For Cassie Will-Darnall, entrepreneurship has never been simply about owning a business. It has been about seeing opportunity, building something useful, and bringing people together to make it work.
Her professional story spans education, sales, operations, real estate, corporate housing, business development, and team leadership in Silicon Valley. Across those different chapters, the common thread has been a willingness to take responsibility, solve problems, and build organizations around the needs of the people they serve.
Starting Young: Entrepreneurship at 29
Will-Darnall entered entrepreneurship early. At 29, she opened her first company, a Sylvan Learning Center. Running an education-focused business required far more than a good idea: it meant managing day-to-day operations, serving families, supporting employees, developing the business, and creating an environment where students could succeed.
That experience established a foundation she would carry throughout her career—the belief that successful businesses are built through consistent execution and strong relationships.
A Foundation in Education
Education was familiar territory. Will-Darnall grew up in a family of educators. Her father, Bob Will, taught botany and horticulture at Foothill College, while her mother taught mathematics at Evergreen Valley College. She later earned an MBA from Santa Clara University, adding formal business training to the practical experience she was already accumulating as an entrepreneur and manager.
The combination of education and hands-on leadership became particularly valuable as her career expanded into sales, operations, real estate, and business development.
Five Years of Sales Recognition
Will-Darnall also built a strong record in sales and operations, earning recognition as a top operations sales representative for five consecutive years. The achievement reflected more than sales performance alone. It required understanding customers, developing long-term relationships, coordinating operations, and consistently delivering results.
Those skills would become especially important in her next major entrepreneurial chapter.
Building Rosswood Properties
In 2015, Will-Darnall launched Rosswood Properties, a corporate housing and real estate business serving the needs of companies and their employees in the Silicon Valley market.
The company grew into a substantial operation, managing more than 200 apartments used by large corporate clients for internship and employee housing programs. Coordinating housing at that scale required a blend of real estate knowledge, logistics, customer service, vendor management, operations, and relationship building.
Corporate housing can look simple from the outside. In practice, it involves dozens of moving pieces: securing appropriate properties, preparing residences, coordinating arrivals and departures, resolving problems quickly, maintaining standards, and meeting the expectations of sophisticated corporate customers.
Rosswood Properties brought together many of the skills Will-Darnall had developed throughout her career. It also reflected the entrepreneurial approach that began with her first company: identify a real need, understand the customer, create a dependable system, and build relationships that last.
Leadership Is Ultimately About People
Over the course of her career, Will-Darnall has managed teams, trained employees, developed company procedures and handbooks, worked across recruiting and human-resources functions, and served as a liaison among customers, employees, executives, and other stakeholders.
That range of experience shaped a practical philosophy of leadership. Numbers matter. Systems matter. Strategy matters. But businesses ultimately succeed because people trust one another enough to work toward the same goal.
A Career Built on Reinvention
Few careers move in a perfectly straight line. Will-Darnall’s has included entrepreneurship, education, sales, business development, real estate, corporate relocation, operations, and leadership. Each chapter added a different set of skills while reinforcing the same fundamental strengths: adaptability, persistence, communication, and an ability to turn complicated challenges into workable plans.
Today, those experiences form a professional story that is larger than any single job title or company. It is the story of a Silicon Valley businesswoman who started her first company before turning 30, continued building and leading businesses, and developed decades of experience helping organizations and people navigate change.
Cassie Will-Darnall is an entrepreneur and business professional with experience in business development, corporate housing, real estate, relocation, operations, sales, training, and team leadership in Silicon Valley.
